The 13 Days of Halloween

Dress up was not mandatory for our special preschool storytime, however, we had plenty of costumes on hand for those not attired in Halloween garb. A big shout out goes to Big Daddy of The Snakeoilers, for his great rendition of The 13 Days of Halloween. He came to both Tuesday and Wednesday storytimes.

Egg-Citing Storytime

Thanks to Adult Reference Librarian Pam Sedor who brought Ella Fitzgerald and Patsy Cline to the last of the Spring session Preshool Storytimes. Each child who wished, pet the fancy birds.We were fortunate that Patsy and Ella cooperated and did not make poo on our rug! The kids listened to stories and songs about chickens and ended the hour with a craft. Original music provided by Garage Band. Pam's chickens live in a coop in her back yard and she often brings in fresh eggs for the library staff.

Thanks to Emily Black and her 11 year-old bunny "Jellybean" who visited Preschool storytime on April 13-14. Emily explained the care and feeding of her rabbit and each child had the opportunity to pet the bunny. We read both fiction and non-fiction bunny books, and ended the session with a craft. Later, Miss Emily took Jellybean to visit our hard-working circulation staff. Once again, a big thanks to Barry Goslin's family for his great music.

Teen Coordinator Molly Carroll brought "Taffy" her ssssssentional 21-year old blind, albino, King snake to Preschool storytime on April 14 and 15. Kids were able to touch Taffy as Molly talked about the life-cycle of snakes and other cool snake facts. Check out a snippet of her visit.
