Meet the Author

While on vacation, I could not pass the opportunity to visit the children's department at several libraries including the West Branch of the Seminol County Library, Fla. (Yes, it's true, we seek out libraries even on vacation). To my great surprise, I found favorite Children's author Alison Jackson, a librarian, who penned among other books I Know an Old Lady who Swallowed a Pie. This is a book I read nearly every Thanksgiving and it is always a huge hit with the preschoolers!! I'm holding up The Ballad of Valentine and If the Shoe Fits a couple of her other picture books

Back from my Florida vaca! Now, I love Harry Potter Books. I even went to the NYC premiere of the first two movies (It helps to know the vice president of publicity at Warner Bros. but that's another story). Anyway, next summer the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open at Universal Stuidos. This is a pix I took of the construction.

Also, The Cat in the Hat and Thing One and Thing Two were kind enough to pose with me!! Don't we look cute? : )

It's a Dog's Life

On Dec. 8th you could say Radnor Library went to the dogs - three Labs and a big 'ol Bassett Hound (plus a cute guiena pig). The last PALS for Reading session was a great sucess with 12 children reading books to animals in order to strengthen reading skills.

Take a gander at some flicks from Tom Yurasits Magic Show on December 5. Nearly 160 attended the show which featured rabbits, disappearing cards, and lots of audience participation.
