These little Piggies do not OINK!!

Our own circulation maven, Gay Lacy, and her daughter, Leigh, a student at Radnor Middle School, brought Timmy and Sammy, intrepid guinea pigs to storytime on October 21 and 22nd. They explained the proper method for caring, grooming, feeding and handling of their pets. The kids heard stories, songs, created a guinea pig craft and then petted the cute fellows!! Thanks Gay and Leigh!!

Harrisburg Poster Session

Our Lego Club is so popular that we went to Harrisburg for the annual Pennsylvania Public Library Conference and presented a poster session on the subject.

Dog Days by Jeff Kinney

Listen to NPR's Maureen Corrigan, book critic for NPR's Fresh Air, talk about The Latest Book Craze your 10-year-old can't get enough of. It's the latest Diary of A Wimpy Kid book by Jeff Kinney. This one is titled Dog Days and features the usual crowd in Greg's world. It's the best one in the series. Click on Kinney's website to hear audio and watch video.

A Real Pal!

Around 16 area kids read to specially trained animals in a program called PALs for reading. The idea behind the PALs for Reading is to allow kids to build reading confidence. This is the first of several sessions. Specially trained animals included a guinea pig, and three dogs.

Geronimo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On October 10, Radnor Library presented a Geronimo Stilton program. Kids listened to and participated in reading a book on the wall from the first book. They answered trivia questions, had fun with a newspaper scavenger hunt, a newspaper relay race, and a "cheesy" craft. The program ended with a cheese tasting and kids voted on their favorite type! The winner by a landslide was Cheddar - Geronimo's fav!! Twenty-five kids enjoyed the morning! Check out our video with original music played by yours truly.

Movin' on

Ray Verna did it again! In three sessions, more than 200 kids and adults sang, heard stories and moved and grooved to Radnor's Music and Movement class. Check out a bit of the class. Mr. Ray will be back in the spring!
