Uke Band II

A second successful Uke Band was held on Tuesday, July 21. Members reviewed previous lessons and learned new chords and songs. I ask, who doesn't love the Ukulele? Thanks to Steve Morasco (big daddy of the Snakeoilers) and Ray Verna who will be leading Ukulele band on July 28.

Design with Dupont

Two educational representatives from Winterthur Museum came to Radnor on July 21st and brought some design tips. Winterthur, an American country estate in Delaware, is the former property of Henry Francis du Pont (1880-1969). Children were treated to a taste of the palatial manor Mr. du Pont once called home. They were also given a chance to "spend money" and design their own room in a mansion. Original music by Lou Brotman

The Book and Craft Show Part I

The first of our Thursday Book and Craft Programs was a rousing success. Michaela and Maureen devised the program with a patriotic theme. They glued stars on a giant flag and made red, white, and blue picture frames from puzzle pieces! Of course, Dorothy Carlson read a classic: Lentil by Robert McCloskey and later Michaela read the very funny Duck for President by Doreen Cronin. Thanks to Rachel Harper for volunteering for the second summer in a row! There is still room to register online www.radnorlibrary.org or on the phone: 610-687-1124. ext. 41.
